	Maine Priest Kills Self after Learning of Sex-Abuse Inquiry USA Today June 27, 2008 http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2008/06/maine-priest-ki.html A priest in Maine has committed suicide a day after learning he was being investigated for sexual abuse of a boy nearly 30 years ago. The Roman Catholic Diocese of Portland said the body of the Rev. James Robichaud was found today in the rectory of Our Lady of the Snows in Dover-Foxcroft. The diocese told The Associated Press that the cause of death was unknown, but police confirmed it was suicide. Robichaud was told yesterday he would be suspended pending the inquiry. He came to the diocese from the Oblates, a religious order of men with whom was serving in Massachusetts prior to his return to Maine in 2000. Update at 2:08 p.m. ET on Saturday: The Kennebec Journal says Robichaud was accused of abusing a girl, not a boy. Thanks to reader Judith D. for catching our mistake.
