After viewing the report, that was broadcast last Monday evening, the bishop of Tenerife, Bernardo Álvarez, confirmed that the priest has been "suspended as a precautionary measure" from his parrochial duties while the matter is investigated. The priest was set up by the 'Primer Plano' team from Televisión Canaria after the distressed woman approached them with the story, claiming to have been the unwilling object of the priest's unwanted sexual advances for some considerable time.
