	New Sex Abuse Lawsuit Filed Against Former Basketball Coach, Mater Dei, Diocese of Orange Manly & Stewart June 18, 2008 http://www.manlystewart.com/news_singlestory/new.andrade.lawsuit Attorneys for an alleged victim of childhood sexual molestation filed a second sex abuse lawsuit against a former Mater Dei High School basketball coach, the school and the Diocese of Orange. The suit, which alleges that former coach and admitted molester Jeffrey Andrade sexually abused the victim while she was a young teenager and student at the school, was filed in Orange County Superior Court in May. The last multi-million dollar case against Andrade settled in October 2007. "Andrade was a serial predator," said John C. Manly, the Newport Beach attorney for the alleged victim. "What's even more appalling is that Mater Dei officials knew that Andrade was a threat, and did nothing to stop him. In fact, they invited him back on campus." The earlier case, which settled on the eve of trial, resulted in contempt of court charges against Orange Bishop Tod Brown, who allegedly allowed witness Msgr. John Urell to flee to Canada to avoid completing his court-ordered deposition. Depositions in the case also revealed that school officials allowed Andrade back on campus after they knew he had molested at least one teen student. During a sworn deposition, Andrade admitted abusing the victim in last year's case. His last known address was in Texas, where he works for Varsity Gold, a high school fundraising company.
