	Catholic Priest Charged in Sex Assault Awaits Verdict By Stephanie Sanchez El Paso Times May 14, 2008 http://www.elpasotimes.com/ci_9256620?source=most_emailed A visiting Catholic priest from Africa is waiting to hear his verdict by a jury on several charges of sexual assault of an 18-year-old woman. Philip Taban, 39, was a visiting priest from Uganda at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in East El Paso when he met the woman and the incident allegedly happened in September 2007. The jury began deliberating the case at 10:10 a.m. Judge Sam Medrano Jr. is presiding over the case in the 409th District Court.
