Neb. Supreme Court Refuses to Hear Former Priest's Appeal Associated Press, carried in KMEG May 14, 2008 http://www.kmeg14.com/Global/story.asp?S=8326233&nav=menu609_2_4 OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska Supreme Court has refused to hear an appeal from a former Roman Catholic priest who was convicted for exposing himself in a mall parking lot. Daniel Herek faces a 120-day jail sentence for lewd conduct and indecent exposure in the September 2005 incident at an Omaha shopping mall. He's been free while awaiting the appeal. In 1999, Herek was sentenced to five years in prison and five years of probation for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old boy and making a videotape. Because Herek was on probation at the time of the mall incident, he could get additional time behind bars. |
