	Former P'Town Priest Removed from Ministry By Karen Jeffrey Cape Cod Times March 17, 2008 http://www.capecodonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080317/NEWS11/80317019 FALL RIVER A priest who spent five years at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Provincetown has been removed from the ministry following an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse, according to the Diocese of Fall River. The Rev. Bento R. Fraga denied the allegation, but an investigation by the Diocesan Review Board found it to be credible. According to an announcement by the Diocese, the alleged abuse occurred in 1979 at a private residence. Fraga, who first came to Provincetown in 1987, moved to St. Paulo Parish in Taunton where he served as pastor until his retirement in 2005 at the age of 75. Though retired and not assigned to a parish, Fraga had permission from the diocese to minister and he was living at St. Anthony Parish in Taunton where he frequently assisted the new pastor. As a result of the board's action, Fraga will no longer be allowed to live in parish housing or the priests retirement facility.
