	Convicted Child Abuser Priest 'No Longer a Threat' ABC News March 1, 2008 http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/03/01/2177173.htm A hearing to determine whether an Anglican priest who served time in jail for child sex offences will be defrocked has been held in Brisbane. Robert John Sharwood was jailed for sexually abusing a teenager 30 years ago. The hearing was held at St John's Anglican Cathedral. Mr Sharwood was not present, but issued a statement saying he was no longer a risk. Mr Sharwood's victim, who cannot be named, was at the hearing. The man says Mr Sharwood is not fit to be a priest as he has not shown any remorse by apologising for his actions. Supreme Court Justice Debra Mullins will now prepare a submission to go the Anglican Archbishop for his decision.
