Neanche se ne parla. Come previsto don Giovanni Brusegan non è stato così bravo da convincere il prete papà a tornare sui suoi passi. O meglio, come previsto, don Sante Sguotti non si è lasciato convincere né dal sacerdote né dal rito delle ceneri di ieri sera, nella parrocchia di Monterosso affollata da una trentina di fedeli. E ancora una volta il prete ribelle si scontrerà con le ire del vescovo Antonio Mattiazzo.Oggi scade l'ennesimo ultimatum offerto dal vescovo al prete ribelle: o tornare sui suoi passi, relegando nel passato la sua famiglia e dimenticando la don na che ama, o essere ridotto allo stato laicale. «Vedremo se il mercoledì delle ceneri mi schiarirà le idee», era stata la provocatoria risposta del prete papà. Inutile dirlo. Il "miracolo" non c'è stato. Don Sante si è presentato alla cerimonia delle 21 come un normale fedele della parrocchia, ha ricevuto le ceneri, ascoltato la predica ma di un pentimento nemmeno l'ombra. «Effettivamente era molto difficile che don Giovanni fosse così bravo da farmi cambiare idea - ha spiegato don Sante - farò tempo a pentirmi più avanti se mi renderò conto che sto sbagliando. Una famiglia me la sono creata due anni fa e ho continuato a fare il parroco come se nulla fosse. Nessuno si era accorto che amavo una don na. Ho dimostrato chiaramente che fare il parroco, il marito e il papà è possibile». Già nella giornata di oggi potrebbe arrivare il provvedimento con cui il vescovo Antonio Mattiazzo riduce allo stato laicale il prete ribelle. Ma nemmeno questo sembra scomporre tanto don Sante . «Sarò ridotto allo stato laicale? Non potrò più essere un prete? E io continuerò a farlo lo stesso - ha spiegato di tutta risposta - fino a quando ci sarà un gregge che mi seguirà io sarò un pastore d'anime. Tutti possono essere pastori d'anime, non è necessario che qualcuno ci dia un permesso». E non serve essere degli esperti per capire che è ben difficile definire queste affermazioni in linea con il dogma della Chiesa Cattolica. Proprio queste potrebbero renderlo ancora più vicino alla scomunica definitiva, così com'è accaduto per il suo compagno di lotta Emmanuel Milingo. [translation] Retractation? No way... Retractation? I clearly demonstrated that to be a parish priest and a husband and a father is possible". Even today bishop Antonio Mattiazzo could decide to defrock the rebel priest. But that doesn't preoccupy the rebel priest very much. "Will I be defrocked? Won't I be a priest anymore? I'll continue to be a priest no matter what - he explained - as far as there will be a flock behind me I'll continue to be a pastor for their souls. Anyone can be a pastor of souls, no permit is necessary". And you mustn't be an expert to understand that it's very difficult to define these statements in line with the dogma of the Catholic church. Just these words could push him nearer to the definitive excommunication, as it happened to his comrade- in-fight Emmanuel Milingo.
