	Cardinal Connell Case Adjourned until Next Week Belfast Telegraph Febriary 4, 2008 http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/breaking-news/ireland/article3400567.ece A High Court case being taken by former Archbishop of Dublin Cardinal Desmond Connell has been adjourned for a week. The cardinal is trying to prevent the examination of certain documents by the Government's inquiry into allegations of sexual abuse in the Dublin Archdiocese. The documents that are the focus of this case were handed over to the inquiry into allegations of sexual abuse by Cardinal Connell's successor, Archbishop Diarmuid Martin. Cardinal Connell's lawyers are trying to prevent the documents being examined and claim that some of them are legally privileged. Today, Judge Iarla O'Neill granted an adjournment of the case until next Monday. An interim injunction which prevents the documents being examined by the inquiry was granted last week. This now remains in place.
