Convicted sex offender Rev. Donald McGuire faces more charges in another federal indictment returned Thursday accusing him of traveling overseas several times with minors with an intent of having sex with them.

McGuire, 77, of Oak Lawn, traveled between Chicago and Zurich, Switzerland and Salzburg, Austria between Dec. 18 and Dec. 28 of 2000 to have sex with minors, according to the new three-count indictment.

He also traveled to Buffalo, Minn. in August 2001 and to Managua, Nicaragua between May 2002 and June 2002 for the same reason, the indictment said.

McGuire, convicted in 2006 for molesting two boys in the 1960s, has faced several lawsuits stemming from abuse allegations from 1998 to 2003.

The Rev. Edward Schmidt, head of the Jesuit Chicago religious order, claimed the order had only "vague" complaints about McGuire's lust for boys throughout the years. Lawyers for the priests' accusers later released a series of written complaints sent to the Jesuits that dated to 1969.

The Chicago Jesuits have sought to dismiss McGuire from the order but still needs Vatican approval to do so.

Citing confidentiality, the Jesuits would not say whether they're also seeking McGuire's removal from the priesthood.

McGuire has been living in an Oak Lawn apartment while appealing a seven-year prison sentence in a Wisconsin conviction.

He is scheduled to appear in federal court in Chicago on Feb.6 on the latest charges.
