	SNAP Asks D.A. for Criminal Investigation of Priest WBAY-TV - ABC2 January 23, 2008 http://www.wbay.com/Global/story.asp?S=7758674 An organization for victims of sexual abuse by priests is calling for charges against a Norbertine priest who spent time at St. Norbert College in De Pere. Ruling on a civil lawsuit, a federal court in Delaware found Friar Edwin Smith guilty of sexually assaulting Ken Whitwell, and awarded Whitwell $41 million. The alleged abuse happened during a three-year period in Delaware started in December 1982. SNAP -- Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests -- claims abuse also occurred during a four-day trip to St. Norbert College. "Discovery in Delaware shows that he was identified in the '80s as being involved in sexual contact with students at the Norbertine high school in Delaware and they brought him here," SNAP's Midwest director, Peter Isely, said. Tuesday SNAP delivered documents to the Brown County district attorney, requesting a criminal investigation.
