Is Bishop Earl Paulk a Christian Sexual Predator? By Delores Williams Gather January 22, 2008 http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977237383&grpId=3659174697244816&nav=Groupspace For years Catholic Priests have been being beat up for behavior done over twenty years ago, but it seems that while everyone was draining the parish bank accounts, another group was sweeping a huge scandal under the rug.
Jim Baker and his tryst, Ted Haggard and his male prostitute story pale in comparison. What might you ask is that huge? How about the minister who had his brother's wife and a few of his parishioners? You might say, "Men sleep around," but does the wife of the brother give birth to the son and present it to her husband as his? Juicy! You know, it just occurred to me that you really can't make this stuff up. So I shall give you all the details, and make my case why a sexual predator got away with it. Who: Bishop Earl Paulk Church: Chapel Hill Harvester Church, Allegations: Repeated Sexual Misconduct How: He coerced at least 9 female church members into affairs that lasted up to 14 years. His own granddaughter, Peni White, also contends that he molested her as a child. Some charged it as molestation, rape, but unlike the Catholic Church, for some reason he has not been charged. The women pursued him in Civil Court and all was revealed, such as payments made to silence the women. More Allegations: Paulk may have fathered several children outside his marriage. Further, he molested at least two children. Bombshell: D.E. Paulk, who was thought to be the son of Don Paulk is actually the son of earl. This man now pastors the church that both his Father and Uncle founded, but not before he left the church because of the scandal. It was only under court order for the cases filed against the Paulk brothers that the parentage came out. He blames the father he still calls "uncle" and the women who were lied to for the revelation coming out. He in fact calls Mona Brewer a "sexually aggressive women addicted to power." How would he know what his real father told her? He has not been honest, and seems to lack character. D.E. Paulk is of the contention that the overt sexual sin that his father engaged in was no one's business. He is overlooking the fact that for over 37 years this (if you include his mom's affair that led to his birth) that this man has repeatedly been unfaithful to his wife. She is the real victim in this. Further, He is a PREACHER!!!! Adultery and God don't make good bedfellows (excuse the pun). The best excuse that D.E. Paulk gave was that something was wrong with his mom's chemistry, so they turned to Earl Paulk for artificial insemination. Can anyone else see the problem with this excuse? Maybe the thing is that D.E. Paulk is in so much denial that he can't see the truth that is so evident. He went on to say that the women who brought these cases were showing themselves to be "whores and prostitutes." He later apologized for the remark. I listened to D.E. Paulk on his various interviews, and it would seem that this young man has attacked the women for the behavior of his father and his uncle. For someone who is a Pastor, just common sense has to say, ALL these women are not lying. His own DNA proves his father and uncle are liars and were going to outrageous lengths to cover sin. Result: For lying under oath about never having slept with another woman, but Brewer, outside of his marriage, it was turned over and became a criminal case. Bishop Earl Paulk was given ten years probation, and a $1,000 fine for felony perjury. No jail time was considered because of his age (80) and his forever failing health. The civil suit is still pending. To show how seriously the Church takes the sexual sin, Paulk still preaches on Sunday. Bishop Paulk built an interracial mega church and a TV ministry in Decatur that attracted national attention and more than 10,000 members. He also started an association of independent charismatic churches that had member churches across the nation. He was a darling to TBN until the sex scandals. The church now has around 1,000 members and the cameras are gone. When the charges came out, the three daughters of the Earl Paulk left the church. His career has been plagued with rumors and charges of sexual indiscretions for decades, but the women were paid off or fled in fear of retaliation. |
