(AP) - An Albany-area priest has been granted a paid leave of absence from the ministry while sex allegations against him are investigated. Reverend Gary Mercure is accused of sexual misconduct with a minor during his tenure as an associate pastor in Queensbury in the 1980s. Albany Roman Catholic Diocese officials say the alleged victim is a male who was a young teenager at the time. The diocese's Sexual Misconduct Review Board is investigating the allegation, which was reported to the diocese last week. Mercure is currently the pastor of Sacred Heart and Saint William Parishes in Troy.
