ROMA (15 gennaio) - «Abbiamo scelto di vivere con una donna, ma non abbiamo commesso nessun peccato». Un lungo incontro, cominciato con un abbraccio affettuoso, ha visto faccia a faccia monsignor Emmanuel Milingo e don Sante Sguotti, i due "preti dello scandalo". Le foto e un'intervista sull'incontro, nella quale Milingo ha annunciato anche il desiderio di avere un figlio dalla moglie Maria Sung, vengono pubblicate dal settimanale Gente in edicola domani.

«Il celibato non è mai stato un dogma, ma solo un modo per controllare i preti: lotteremo per far aprire gli occhi al Papa», ha detto l'ex-arcivescovo di Lusaka, scomunicato per aver ordinato vescovi sposati negli Stati Uniti.
«Non è un peccato abbandonare il celibato e certo non è un capriccio. Anzi, è un modo per umanizzare il sacerdozio», ha aggiunto l'ex parroco di Monterosso di Abano Terme (Padova) che all'ex-presule zambiano ha mostrato le foto del piccolo Rocco, il figlio che ha avuto dalla sua compagna Tamara e che gli è costato la sospensione "a divinis".
«Sono stato estromesso dalla comunità. Con mia moglie ero andato al santuario della Vergine di Pompei, ma mi hanno negato la comunione. Non posso vivere senza l'Eucarestia», ha poi raccontato Milingo su quanto accaduto nel primo giorno del suo viaggio in Italia, aggiungendo:«La gente mi invia centinaia di messaggi ogni giorno da tutto il mondo. Tra qualche giorno tornerò a New York. E, se Dio vorrà, io e mia moglie Maria avremo un figlio».

On the contrary, it's a way to humanize priesthood", former parish priest of Monterosso in Abano Terme (Padua) added, after having shown Milingo the photo of his son Rocco, the child he had from his companion Tamara, whose relationship cost him the "suspension a divinis".
"I have been expelled from the community. With my wife I went to the sanctuary of the Virgin of Pompei, but they denied me the Communion. I can't live without the Eucharist", Milingo said about what had happened to him in the first day of his trip in Italy, adding: "People sent me hundreds of messages from all over the world every day . In a few days I'll go back to New York. And, god willing, my wife and I will have a child".
