Don Sante Al Lavoro Come Camionista Il Gazzettino November 6, 2007 http://www.gazzettino.it/VisualizzaArticolo.php3?Luogo=Padova&Codice=3567279&Data=2007-11-6&Pagina=9 ABANO: Yesterday was the first day at the driving wheel The Rev. Sante working as a truck driver A TV interview during the break for lunch It was the first day of work for the priest in love. In a little more than one month he passed from the altar of the Monterosso church to the seat of a truck. The rebel priest yesterday put to use his type "E" driving license and started to earn his bread as a normal lay person. It's sure his role of pseudo-parish priest and "spiritual father" for a very faithful niche of followers has not been abandoned. But yesterday a new life as an employee for a trucking business started for him. There was no way to convince the priest to reveal his employer's name. What is known is that the priest will have to travel in the Triveneto to transport construction material. "It's fun to be a truck driver", he said during the lunch break. "That's what I wanted to do and finally I was able to get the job". His popularity is rising and during the lunch break , after having parked the truck, he was interviewed by a troupe of the "Verissimo" TV talk show for next Saturday airing. You can bet that during the interview the rebel priest will speak about his soon-to-be-released book "Il mio amore non e' peccato" (My love is not a sin). The book will be in all book shops and perhaps in the streets' newspaper stalls next Monday. It's to be noted that besides his accomplishments as a truck driver and TV talk show guest, Rev. Sante performed very well in the charity soccer match at the Mortise stadium. It was limited to five players per team: He played with the priests' team named "Black for choice" against the boxers' team named "Padua ring." The match ended with the priests flattening the boxers 9 to 5. |
