The pastor of a Northeast Portland church was arrested for rape and sex abuse Monday, accused of abusing up to eight women.
Portland sexual assault detectives arrested 38-year-old Father Sergio Alvarizares at his Ridgefield, Washington home after a two week investigation.

According to Sgt. Brian Schmautz, police were called to a scuffle in front of the Casa del Padre church on NE Alberta on September 30, where some members of the church were arguing with Alvarizares about the accusations.
Later that night, deputies in Multnomah County got phone calls from six women reporting a sexual assault.
Alvarizares was charged with one count of rape, attempted rape and ten counts of sex abuse.
Police said they found two more alleged victims before the arrest and were looking for any more information in the case.
