Patrick A. Hennessey ptwww.com October 3, 2007 http://www.ptwww.com/practice/eminent/Hennessy.html Mr. Hennessey is a partner of Palmieri, Tyler and serves as Chairperson of the firm's eminent domain/valuation litigation department. He has specialized in eminent domain litigation for over 25 years. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley (B.A., with honors, 1975) and obtained his law degree from the University of San Diego (J.D., 1978). Mr. Hennessey has handled over 300 condemnation and inverse condemnation matters, including the recent taking of the landmark Lever Brothers soap facility in the City of Commerce, in which the total compensation award exceeded $20 million. He has obtained numerous verdicts and settlements in excess of one million dollars. Some of Mr. Hennessey's more significant cases include State v. La Cresta Investments, where the State paid in excess of $9 million for a partial taking of an apartment complex, and State v. Los Angeles Athletic Club, which resulted in a $4 million judgment in Orange County. Mr. Hennessey successfully represented a number of property owners whose properties were being condemned by the Metropolitan Water District for the Domenigoni reservoir project in Hemet, California. Mr. Hennessey is a former member of the State Bar Committee on Condemnation Law (1989-1991). He is a member of the American Bar, State Bar and Orange County Bar Associations, Condemnation Attorneys Group and International Right of Way Association. He has lectured on various condemnation-related topics and recently served as a guest speaker for the Appraisal Institute's annual litigation seminar.
