	McCormack Victim to Get $1.65 Million By Susan Hogan Chicago Sun-Times September 21, 2007 http://www.suntimes.com/lifestyles/religion/568099,CST-NWS-Priest21.article A $1.65 million settlement has been reached between the Archdiocese of Chicago and the family of a boy molested by the Rev. Daniel McCormack, the victim's attorney announced Thursday. In July, McCormack was sentenced to a five-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to molesting boys at St. Agatha Parish and Our Lady of the Westside School, now called Saint Agatha Catholic Academy. Steven Dicker said his client, now 15, was molested by the priest between 2001 and 2005. At the time, the boy was a student of the school and a member of the basketball team that the priest coached, he said. He praised the boy for speaking out. Cardinal Francis George released a statement in response to the settlement. "My prayers go out to this young person and his family as well as my hope for healing," he said.
