	Catholic Clergy Sex Abuse Lawsuit to Proceed Associated Press, carried in KJCT September 13, 2007 http://kjct8.com/Global/story.asp?S=7071347 Denver (AP) - A consolidated lawsuit accusing two Roman Catholic priests of sexually abusing youngsters will proceed after the Colorado Supreme Court dismissed an appeal from the Denver Archdiocese. The court without comment rejected the archdiocese's claim that a district judge erred when he ruled the plaintiffs waited too long to sue. The ruling was issued Monday and made public today. The 11 cases allege the archdiocese was negligent in supervising two priests, Harold R. White who died in November and the Reverend Leonard Abercrombie who died in 1994. White was removed from public ministry in 1993 and left the priesthood in 2004. The plaintiffs allege the archdiocese concealed the abuse allegations and failed to protect children from the priests. Attorneys for both sides now will schedule depositions from witnesses and establish an evidence-exchange process. At least 18 people who said they were sexually abused by White and another Colorado priest have settled their claims against the archdiocese for a total of at least $1.6 million.
