	Priest in Court over 40-Year-Old Sex Charge ABC News September 10, 2007 http://abc.net.au/news/stories/2007/09/11/2029329.htm?section=justin Australia — The Launceston Supreme Court has heard detailed evidence from a man who alleges he was sexually abused by a priest nearly 40 years ago. Gregory Lawrence Ferguson has pleaded not guilty to one count of maintaining a sexual relationship with a young person under the age of 17. Fergsuon was a Catholic priest and school teacher at Burnie's Marist College when the abuse is alleged to have taken place in 1970. The alleged victim took the stand yesterday and told the court he was sexually abused by Ferguson a number of times after being caught smoking. The man, who was 12 at the time, alleges the abuse happened in the priest's room. Another man who is not a complainant but attended the same school, told the court he was also abused by Ferguson. His cross examination will resume later this morning.
