Patterson Pastor Charged with Incest

The pastor of a church in Patterson has been arrested on charges he had sex with a family member.
Detectives with the Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office say they arrested 69-year-old James Piper Junior for aggravated incest.

His wife, 59-year-old Joyce was arrested Monday as an alleged accessory.
Both have since bonded out of jail.

Detectives say the incident happened several years ago. According to the Patterson Mayor, Piper is listed as the pastor of Zion Chapel, a branch of the African Methodist Episcolpalean Church.
