Catholic Priest Sex Offending Has Improved: Investigator Pacific Radio News August 9, 2007 http://www.niufm.com/?t=3&View=FullStory&newsID=2277 Auckland 6am: The man who investigates sexual abuse complaints against Catholic priests in New Zealand says most priests are behaving nowawadays. Former police commissioner John Jamieson's comments follow that of former Australian nun Michelle Mulvihill's, that the Pacific is being used to dump paedophile Catholic priests. Jamieson says he is investigating a number of cases but says the claims are untrue overall as most of the complaints happened 50 or 60 years ago. He told Pacific Radio News that the number of new cases emerging have been neglible. A spokesperson for the New Zealand Catholic Church yesterday said they would look into Michelle Mulvihill's allegations and wanted her to produce evidence for her claim. |
