The Woodlands, TX — A former volunteer church greeter at Fellowship of The Woodlands has been arrested and charged with four to six counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor.

Jamie (James) Vau, 52, of Spring, TX was released on $100,000 bond after being arrested in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Vau is reportedly heading back to Houston.

Investigators are reporting that the victim was a female between the age of 8 to 14, and that Vau may have targeted multiple youngsters during several marriages and had access to young children during those relationships.

According to investigators, Vau targeted children between 8 and 14 years of age and the abuse occurred over a long period of time at several locations in the Albuquerque area.

Vau is described as having a medium complexion, 5'10", black hair, brown eyes and may have been driving a dark blue Toyota Corolla with Texas registration.

According to church officials, Vau did pass a background check before becoming a church greeter and his duties did not call for him to be alone with children.

Parents of any children who have come in contact with Vau are urged to talk with their children about the possibility of inappropriate behavior and report any illegal activity to their local authorities.

Anyone with any information or questions regarding this case can call Det. Dolan with the Albuquerque Police Department Crimes Against Children Unit at (505) 761-4060, ext. 223.
