Burlington, Vt. - The man suing the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington over priest sex abuse he claims to have suffered in the 1970s isn't going to take the stand until Monday.

James Turner had been expected to testify today.

Turner claims he was molested by the Reverend Alfred Willis.

This morning, retired vicar general Wendell Searles, who is not accused in the case, was asked to read descriptions of acts allegedly committed by Willis.

At one point, Searles had to ask the judge if he could stop reading because the material was so unsettling.

The diocese is arguing that when Willis allegedly molested Turner he was not acting on behalf of the church.

Turner's case against the diocese is the first sex abuse case to go to trial.
