Dubliner Bishop Kevin Farrell has this evening been installed as one of America's leading prelates with responsibility for the Catholic Diocese of Dallas.
Concelebrating with his brother, Vatican Bishop Brian Farrell, he told the congregation that the Gospel of Jesus, as the Word of God, was not to be accommodated to the culture of the day.

Bishop Farrell has served as an assistant bishop in Washington DC and takes over in Dallas following a series of expensive settlements with survivors of clerical child sexual abuse.
His brother serves as the number two official in the Vatican's Council for Promoting Christian Unity.
The two brothers are natives of Drimnagh in Dublin.
