A Chicago priest accused of molesting boys is expected back in court today. Father Daniel McCormack is accused of assaulting five children over four years.

It has been more than a year since charges were first brought against McCormack. Up until now he has always maintained his innocence but today he could plead guilty in order to avoid going to trial.

The 38-year-old priest is accused of abusing five boys. McCormack was a pastor at St. Agatha Catholic Church on the city's West Side.

The mothers of two of McCormack's alleged victims are now suing him and the Archdiocese after learning McCormack was accused of abusing children after the church started monitoring his activities.

The survivors' network of those abused by priests has led to criticism of how the Archdiocese deals with abuse cases.

Francis Cardinal George admitted mistakes were made in not removing him immediately from ministry. In the wake of the McCormack case, the cardinal appointed an advisory committee to review the handling of priest abuse cases.

McCormack is free on $300,000 bond.
