(Hartford-AP)_ The pastor of a Hartford church has rejected a plea deal on charges of sexual assault involving an eleven-year-old member of his congregation.

Fifty-two-year-old Modesto Reyes is charged with sexually assaulting and impregnating the girl. He has turned down an offer to plead guilty to sexual assault charges in exchange for a prison term of 15 years.

Reyes, who is charged with four counts of first-degree sexual assault, has repeatedly maintained his innocence. Reyes rejected the plea offer yesterday and the case has been placed on the trial list. No trial date has been set.

Reyes is pastor of Iglesia De Dios, Cristo Te Llama church on Broad Street. He was arrested in June of 2006.

Prosecutor allege that between August and September 2005, Reyes sexually assaulted a girl whose family attended his church. The girl, who has since turned 12, delivered a baby boy last May.
