Best was president of the Methodist Church in Ireland from 1996 to 1997. He pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a boy in the 1960s. He admitted six charges of sexual assault between January 1st, 1963, and December 31st, 1966. The court heard he was 19 when he first interfered with the victim, then aged 14. |
