According to a source, the pastor allegedly used his fingers to expand the girl's virgina before penetrating. This, according to report was done to prevent the girl from bleeding. Meanwhile, nemesis caught up with Pastor Otiku when the raped girl reported the incident to her mother days after. According to villagers who spoke on the issue on the basis of anonymity, Pastor Otiku, on hearing the spread of the news in the community, fled to Benin. Meanwhile, the wife of the pastor, Mrs Otiku, was said to have denied the allegation on her husband's behalf. "She confronted some community members who summoned the pastor and the girl’s mother to appear before the community council. The community council ordered the arraignment of Pastor Otiku by youths, to deny or confirm the allegation," our source said. "He was brought and after investigation, it was proved that Pastor Otiku really raped the girl and the girl's family requested him to pay the sum of N150,000.00 while he pleaded to pay N50,000.00 to the family, including a carton of beer and a she-goat to the community," the source said.
