Former Norwich Pastor to Stand Trial in Sex Abuse Case Norwich Bulletin December 7, 2006 http://www.norwichbulletin.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061207/NEWS01/61207037 New London — A trial starts Friday for the former pastor at the Norwich Assembly of God who is charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. Charles Johnson Jr., 53, of 35 Fourteenth St. Norwich has denied the charges and pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. Represented by Groton attorney Peter Bartinik Jr., Johnson will be tried before a six-member jury in New London Superior Court. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant State's Attorney Theresa Anne Ferryman. |
