DES MOINES (IA)

An unprecedented meeting will take place tomorrow in Des Moines with Iowa's Catholic bishops and members of three groups concerned about sexual abuse by clergy. Representatives of the group "SNAP", Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests and two other groups will meet with bishops.
"SNAP" has staged protests calling for the defrocking of former Sioux City bishop Lawrence Soens who has been accused of sexual abuse.
All four of Iowa's current bishops agreed to attend the meeting. However, newly-ordained Sioux City bishop R. Walker Nickless will not be there.
