MEMPHIS -A group of victims gather in Memphis to speak out about Catholic priests who allegedly molest. S.N.A.P., Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests, displayed its chain of victims outside Catholic High and St. Peter Villa in Midtown. The exhibit is called "Breaking the Silence". The group wants the Catholic Church to turn over the names of all known abusers to them. They want to use the information to warn the various communities where the priests now live.
The groups visit to Memphis comes on the heels of a lawsuit filed by a week ago by a Memphis man against the Catholic Diocese of Memphis and Father Paul St. Charles. St. Charles now lives in Nashville. The Diocese tells us he is now suspended and cannot perform any duties for the Catholic Church.
