Deadline in abuse settlement

KENTUCKY
The Cincinnati Post

Post staff report

Thursday was the deadline for those who want to participate in a class-action settlement against the Roman Catholic Diocese of Covington to postmark their census forms.

Any victims of sexual abuse at the hands of diocese priests or employees who wanted to be part of the settlement had to file a census form.

In 2003, Mike Allen, then-Hamilton County Prosecutor, rea-

ched a $3 million agreement with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati to compensate alleged victims.

Carrie Huff, who represents the Covington diocese in its case, referred comment to Special Judge John Potter, who is hearing the case.
