When Lynne Cadigan first took on sexual abuse claims against the Diocese of Tucson seven years ago, she says it was a struggle, but now a lot has changed.
"We couldn't possibly even speak to each other," says Cadigan. "I considered them to be criminals." "I considered it to be a conspiracy, and a cover up."
"Legally in this situation we managed to reach a compromise which was a win win for the victims and that's very unusual in the law."
Today a federal court judge approved 30 settlement claims against the Diocese of Tucson for sexual abuse. Cadigan is the lawyer for 28 of the claimants expected to receive settlement money. She says the court's approval means there's now light at the end of the tunnel.
