CHICAGO --

Carmen Severino is filing a lawsuit claiming she was abused as a young child in a Chicago-area parish.

A lawsuit is about to be filed against a Roman Catholic religious order.

The suit is being brought on behalf of a woman who claims she was abused as a child by a now-dead priest.

Carmen Severino plans to sue the Claretian order. She claims she was abused by a priest at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Church on the Chicago's southeast side beginning at the age of 11.

The lawsuit claims the order kept a "secret file" in which they kept allegations of abuse, making it impossible to learn of past problems with pedophile priests.

With SNAP (The Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests) founder Barbara Blaine standing by her side, Severino and her attorney announced their intent to file suit on Monday.
