John L. Allen, the Rome correspondent for theAbuse Tracker and a leading observer of Vatican affairs, will be the featured speaker at the Voice of the Faithful's second convention in Melville on March 19.
Allen, a commentator for CNN andAbuse Tracker Public Radio, will give his insight into the election of the next pope. The conference's keynote speaker will be the Rev. Thomas P. Doyle, a canon lawyer and expert witness in many clergy sex abuse cases, who will discuss how the scandal developed in the American Catholic Church. There will also be a panel discussion on the evolving roles of priests and the laity.
