As victims of Archdiocese of Cincinnati priest sex abuse are receiving their financial compensation, three priests have been suspended due to information provided during the process of interviewing victims to determine eligibility for the $3 million fund.

The accusations that the three -- David Vincent, Stanley Doerger and Michael Paraniuk -- sexually abused minors were deemed plausible enough by the tribunal presiding over the fund to award their accusers compensation as victims.

"These were the only active priests of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati against whom claims were determined by the tribunal fund to be plausible," Archbishop Daniel Pilarczyk noted Wednesday.

None of the three priests admit to the allegations but the tribunal -- two former judges and an experienced trial attorney -- deemed the accusations had a "semblance of truth." That is the designation that triggers removal of a priest from the ministry under U.S. Church law as the investigation continues.

All of the accusations presented to the tribunal have been presented to civil authorities.
