A report by the Dáil's Public Accounts Committee into the Residential Institutions Redress Scheme has been delayed, to allow the Committee to study yesterday's High Court judgement.
The report, which had been due for publication tomorrow, had been widely expected to criticise the way in which the Government indemnified the religious orders against abuse claims.
However, it is now likely to be delayed for at least a week while committee members study the High Court judgement, and assess the implications, if any, for the scheme.
The total money offered by the Residential Institutions Redress Board since it was set up now exceeds €140m.
