Vienna – St. Poelten Bishop Klaus Kueng has apologised to Austrian Catholics for the child porn scandal that took place in the diocese under his predecessor Kurt Krenn in a letter to all those who left the Church last year. In the letter, he wrote that everyone would be welcomed back if they change their minds. He said that the large number of people leaving the church was a “painful sign.” He described the “sad events” as a “great scandal.”
