ATHENS, GREECE - After a month of scandalous behaviour by some clerics, Greece's Orthodox church is expected to approve a series of measures Saturday that would put an end to ethical misconduct.

An emergency meeting of the 102-member Holy Synod was called to deal with the church's public embarrassment over the actions of some senior clerics.

Another case involves a senior cleric who is suspected of embezzlement. He was also taped by television cameras, engaging in a form of phone sex with other clergy.

The church is also investigating the case of a 91-year-old cleric, allegedly photographed in bed, nude, with a young woman. That photo was published in an Athens newspaper.
