PASCAGOULA - A judge on Friday sentenced Anthony R. Guy, an Ocean Springs youth minister accused of repeatedly molesting three girls at his church, to 20 years in a Mississippi prison.

Guy, 36, pleaded guilty to four counts of molestation and seven counts of sexual battery Friday before Circuit Judge Robert P. Krebs.

Krebs sentenced Guy to 30 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, with 20 years to be served day for day, five years under post-release supervision and five years suspended.

During the hearing, one of the victims stood up and told the court that Guy preyed upon her and other girls' vulnerabilities and filled their adolescence with sadness and loneliness.

"I forgive Anthony Guy," the teenager said tearfully. "However, it is not my forgiveness that he needs. I believe he cannot control himself not to repeat his past."

"Please put him away to protect the children that have not been born yet," the girl said. "I don't believe there is any excuse for this, and I don't think 20 years is too long."
